Rancho Club is a small but charming 2 star hotel that will appeal to anyone wanting to visit Cuba’s second largest city, Santiago de Cuba, on a budget.

Rancho Club hotel provides basic though comfortable facilities, with fine views of the city & mountains that are great for holiday photos. The shops, bars, restaurants & tourist attractions of central Santiago de Cuba are a 10-minute drive away so taxis are recommended as there is little entertainment at the hotel. There is parking available for those who choose car hire.

Islazul Rancho Club has a well kept pool & terrace area where you can relax amid breathtaking views, although the fun ends there as far as hotel entertainment activities go. The hotel has an open air buffet restaurant, snack bar (which arguably serves the best food), nightclub & shop.

Rancho Club hotel is a good choice for anyone looking to spend time in Santiago de Cuba, while having somewhere that is inexpensive, quiet & totally relaxing nearby.

Great value for money. Its small -- 30 or so rooms -- but I never missed a hot shower, even if I had to wait a few minutes for the hot water to arrive -- normal stuff. Friendly staff, and decent meals, although predictable. This place would make a great budget stop-over for cyclo-tourists....the final approach to the hotel from Santiago City is a long and gentle grade -- i did it daily on my heavy steel bicycle for two straight weeks without any trouble. Not a flat either. Because it is a small place, it is always possible that if you arrive cold without a reservation you might find Rancho Club full.

Best value for money for the experienced Cuba traveler.

Guide to Santiago de Cuba City
Cuba's second city is hot, hilly and exhausting but at the same time seductively languid. Built on a sequence of hills overlooking a large bay with the Sierra Maestra in the background, it is certainly one of Cuba's most picturesque cities. Its colourful streets sweep up and down steep hills, making walking through the city, although pleasant, a little tiring if done in long stretches.

Santiago City has a singular vibrancy, its predominantly mulatto people, a mix of Spanish, French from Haiti and huge numbers of Africans, are persistently friendly. And their reason for being is music and dance.

Santiago de Cuba has plenty to offer for sightseers, blessed as it is with a host of interesting museums, buildings and places.. including the Moncada Barracks, Emilio Bacardi Museum, The Cathedral, Morro Castle, La Maison and Calle Heredia
